Hi,
Me and my wife are off to bansko on march 9th until the 14th, i have a few questions that i could do with some help with:
Is it best to book a lift pass online before i go or get it when im there???
Where is tyhe best/cheapest place to hire boardin and ski gear from???
Im flying from luton, is it best to change my money before i go or do it when im there?? Also is it best to use lev or euro??
Never been to bulgaria before so any info/help is really appreicated??? Craig.
Lift Pass - Ive always booked beforehand, ive heard that this is cheaper but also much more convenient as you'll be eating into skiing time if you're sorting it out when you get there.
Ski Gear - Not sure as I have my own, but this will depend on what resort you're staying in anyway......
Currency - You get a much better rate out there, levs are more widely used than Euros. My advice: take enough levs for the first day and exchange sterling as and when you need it.
change your money here! but in a bank !! Atms are the best way especially if you have a nationwide caash card (no charges)
as far as i know you cannot book a pass online, unless you do it with a package holiday firm.
I recomend Bansko sports to hire equipment , they are friendly inexpensve and very helpful. And open early .I know Ullens offer a discount on your lift pass but the price works out nearly the same
Right you can only save money on your lift pass if you are on a package holiday and buy it as part of a deal. As you are wizz airing it out of Luton you are on a diy job, so head to the gondola and buy your pass from there. Approx £130 for 6 days no pic required.
Change into Levs either do it here or in resort you may get a slightly better rate in Bansko but to be honest it does not really make a lot of difference. I always change before I go to save hassle.
Board hire on the up to ...

Board hire on the up to the gondola you will find a few ski/board shops so shop around for best deals/ equipment. You may find you get a deal at the gondola if you get lift pass and gear from them but reviews of equipment are mixed.
Lastly try and leave some snow please as I arrive on the 13th!!!!
If you're on a DIY holiday, you must have booked some accommodation. Try contacting the person you booked from. They may be able to arrange lift passes and ski/board hire for you. It's always cheaper to do it before you go. You can't hire ski clothing in any ski resort. If you don't want to spend much, try second hand on Ebay.
