Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Well it would appear that the time is right to put a few People straight including the Moderators on this Board.

Georgie, the Attitude that the Failsworth 50 Ski Group has taken towards Bulgaria and the Bulgarian People during our Visits over the last Ten Years has been one of Kindness and particularly, Understanding. We are completely aware of levels of Pay etc, and this has been reflected in the way we reward the Service Industry especially in Bulgaria.

I completely agree that the Ski's should be paid for by the Person who was responsible for them as in Most if not all other Countries, However, this is where the Similarity with others stops.
What i was objecting to was the way this young Lady was Harrassed each morning and Evening by the Balkan Rep for this Money,when she was alone, when he was not willing to conduct a Search at close of Business for the Missing Skis. The Police were not informed, which i find particularly suspect, since in the words of the Bulgarian Staff at the bar in question, A SET OF SKIS.S GOES MISSING ON AVERAGE ONE PAIR PER DAY . Surely this leads one to think that there is a sting operation required by the Police.
Furthermore, as the young Lady in question did return to the Ski Room with a similar pair of Ski's that appeared to had been left on the Mountain, surely that means that Two People had the wrong Ski's, but nobody at Ulan could explain if this other person had been in as they were obviously in the same Boat.
I similarly find it hard to believe that the Ski's were actually Stolen as they were hardly Showstoppers compared to Numerous Pairs of our own Ski's located in the same Rack ( with no locking devices available )

Finally to you Georgie, i would love to hear your comments on the Carnage that breaks out every weekend when you receive new arrivals and How after Two Years witnessing this myself in Bansko, it never improves any.

To Val, as a Moderator on this Board, i find your Comments towards our Group, Insulting. You know absolutely nothing of the Events of last Year, when a complete Accident on the Ski Road at the End of the Evening, led to a Ski Instructor in his Anger at one of his Clients being knocked sideways, resulted in one of our Newbie Skiers having his Lift Pass confiscated until the following Morning. An Action we all agreed with and would expect to conform with the Ski Code.
When you return from your Holiday, which i seriously hope you enjoy, without any of the Pitfalls that befell ourselves, may i suggest you kindly refrain from making assumptions and continue to answer questions on Snow Conditions, ATMs and how many Lev to the Pound, that you currently
do so well.

With regards to the Balkan Rep who everyone would like me to stop nameing, i would point out that my comments regarding his entry to the UK were of course tongue in cheek, something i have never had to explain in my previous postings on this Board as i thought i shared the same Humour as Pete, Daniel etc when Making Curt Replies et al.

Firstly, Val is not a moderator on this board, that applies to just Daniel, Tanjette, and myself.

Being caught up in any situation such as you experienced is always more concerning to those actually involved in the incident rather than those of us just reading about it, and we all draw differing conclusions to what may or may not have happened.

As I stated earlier, this board always allows freedom of speech, and emotions can run high when it directly effects any one of us.

I personally know your love of Bulgaria and their people, and your contribution to this board over the years has been brilliant.

So let this drop now, and lets get back to hearing from the fun-loving Failsworth nutters we all love.
