igal the problem is that the pass bought in borovets is going to cost about 140 euros, skis and boots you should pay about 40-50 euros if you ask around, plenty of the instructors can help there,(easy to spot them they wear slightly garrish skiwear) We used to be able to buy everything for about 140 euros from this site but they stopped doing it unless you book your accomodation as well, which for us in uk makes for an expensive way of doing things. If we book over here from our own companies its a lot cheaper than israel seem that your tour company is making a lot of profit!!!!!! (there is a truism in there somewhere i think) I can help you sort out the eqpt but the pass is still going to cost you unless you can pass off as local in which case you could gamble on a 'locals' pass (dirt cheap) am irambling a bit????????? must be because its first thing in the morning no coffee yet

If you look at the board from around about this time last year you'll find exactly the same - come January, loads of countdowns. It's all part of the fun and excitement.

There are loads of serious postings mixed in with it all, but look at Decembers postings - is there going to be any snow. And in March, is there enough snow.

It's a discussion board after all and people want to discuss how many days they have left until their holidays - you're just jealous cos you've had your fun already and we're all still getting ready.

thanks judith but I still stand by what i said, just look at the posting a few up from here " what is a shitsu" does that have any place here, that is for a chatroom mentality.
As for my holiday , yes it has been and gone & yes i am jealous of all those now going out to ski but not to borovets, we suffered cramped & closed pistes coupled with lengthy queues for the full week so i find it interesting to compare my experiences with those that were fortunate to have more favourable conditions. I really can see why the country has the appeal it has not only based on price but I was unlucky not to see it at its best.

I went to Borovets mid March last year - first time I'd skiied so I had nothing to compare it against, but was 10 minutes a long wait for a lift queue - and that was when the gondola was closed as it was too windy for it to be safe.

Wherever you go in the world, the beginning of the season is always risky which is why prices creep up as the season progresses, tapering off again at the end. I also think you were very unlucky with the weather - the season didn't start until 20th December. My brother was in Val D'Isre for Xmas and even there not all the runs were open, the queues were bad and he still managed to get injured.

Anyway, isn't a shitsu some type of massage? and wouldn't you get one of those in a ski resort too.
