Nice one sam. I saw the bit about the sockets on your earlier post (think it was your review) and made a note.
I've got a few friends together and it looks like between us we may be buying a property in each of the following:-
Bulgaria
France
Crete
Cape Verde (if research into the political stability there works out)
Spain

if you looking in france around rocomador and cacasone are realy nice and loads of brits go there in the summer, saw a realy nice renovation project at rocomador but a bit too much work so got draged away,
Spain the next big place to buy is near Murcia, building a large international airport there and prices should rise drastically in the next few years,
Florida is good place to buy as well a lot of companies guarentee a rental income for 40 weeks of the year. never looked into crete, ...

Pretty much agree with you on most things there. Cape without doubt has the biggest growth potential but with it comes the highest degree of risk. They have only had a democracy there since 1990. Morocco represents another potential hot spot but why am I nervous of buying in Africa?
The idea is to have 2 pretty safe bets (France and Spain) 1 slightly riskier (Crete - probably no spectacular growth or rental but should be steady to good in the right area - maybe Elounda?). 1 medium to high ...

The idea is to have 2 pretty safe bets (France and Spain) 1 slightly riskier (Crete - probably no spectacular growth or rental but should be steady to good in the right area - maybe Elounda?). 1 medium to high risk (Bulgaria) and one high risk roll of the dice (probably Cape). May even try to underpin with a UK property but I'm really not convinced that there is any value left in the UK.
chris have you thought about dubi there are some cheap propeties out there as well as the real expensive, Lee was out there last week said its a fantastic country and would like to look there, not sure about the risk factor though, but tax free!
Going to Excel centre tomorrow to place in the sun exhibition - will look at dubai. Am a little weary as I know someone who has about £1million worth of property in South Africa but he can only get about £2000 a year out of South Africa - only way he could do it would be to take the money in cash and drive right through Africa hoping not to get stopped!!!
Big, difficult to see the wood from the trees but worth the trip. I'm seriously thinking of adding office space for commercial letting in Bucharest (Romanian capital) financial district to my hit list!
One problem was that too many people wanted to tell you about specific apartments but could not answer any questions! Think I know more about Bansko than 90% of the people trying to sell Bansko!!!
shame realy if they are at those kind of places they should know about the areas, I think though some are just working in the UK and possibly have never been to bansko, Ive got some pic of that area of bucharest I think it is where they have recently rebuilt isnt it?
I think so but only got a couple of mins with a bloke. I didn't take him too seriously when I was speaking to him but when I walked away I thought about what he said - makes sense.
