The legal side i am very clear on. As for corruption, I have never been blinkered. However I a sure that this director is no fool when it comes to being articulate with the accounts. Doug has world wide experience with dealing with corruption at all levels and is very good at tracking down every receipt and invoice.

I now know the full situation and it will not be easy to ensure the monies go to engaging more staff and I will help with part time training but the director can’t get rid of me now and I am in a much better position.
Cards have been forced to be shown now therefore we are able to move forward not backwards, but not as quickly as we may want them too. The corruption with funding stops now.
This should not deter us from raising funds for the heating as the monies would not be placed in the hands of anyone other than the company that gains the tender, payment will also be in instalments.

Neil, Amanda was involved with the Romanian orphanages in the 90,s she is switched on to these corrupt people, she knows what is going on here, she just needs to prove it, we must all continue to back her 100%,

Never fear, Amanda. New and exciting plans for further fund raising and awareness are being organised all the time.You have to send PP a photo of yourself for the Miss World comp, unless you want the one of you in those socks used!

Amanda,All this leaves a little cloud hanging over the efforts that you and everybody else has made to try and get this Orphanage running properly.
Can you just put our minds at rest and ensure all those who have donated to the heating fund that the money they have given WILL be properly used for the repair of the heating system and it will not fall into the hands of the wrong people.

amandaI think me and carole are on the same wave lenth, why not take a proper salary, at least they cant use it then, if you dont want to pocket from it then plough it back into the fund. it will help the kids more than the director taking it. plus it gives you a right to be in there.

Although new light has been thrown on the Director, we have always known what we are up against and I for one have always said that before we put any money into that place we do need reassurance that the place will be kept open. Unfortunately, Bulgaria is full of corruption and that is why I got involved in this particular orphanage as I knew Amanda would keep an eye on things. The money is safe and will remain so. In March Amanda, Andie and myself will become the legal signatories, any money withdrawn will have to be signed by two of us . Amanda and Andie will be living there and I visit very often. Pete, I know you are very dedicated to this cause and people trust you so I am sticking my head out here but I know that both Amanda and Andie would be more than happy for you to come on board, to be one of the signatories or replace me. I can assure you that this money going into the Escrow account will only be used for the heating system, insulation and repairs. If by any chance the Authorities did cough up and do the work, then we would re think and ask everybody who has donated their opinion of how to spend the money. They are looking at a total of up to 150 children in this place, and there is always so much that these children will need. However, we are so far off our target so hopefully in the meantime things will be sorted out after the meeting yesterday and we have time to see what happens. Please, please, nobody get negative about this. Perhaps Amanda should have been a bit more selective with her choice of words, but the thing is she has been totally honest, put the cards on the table and it is really up to us now to help these children and not forget them again and to cut through all this bloody red tape and get these kids warm for next winter.

If I were to take a position offered this would lead to a few complications on a personal note.
