Message For Steve C

Steve C ,
sorry to directly contact you for information. I'm sure you probably have better things to do.

The reason i am contact you direct as you do seem to offer a balanced view of the place, and i would welcome any information that you could add or supply.

I tagged another thread directly at you a couple of months ago, to ask for an update with regards to what was happening on the ground out there (which you kindly replied to). I just wondered if there was anything to ...

Well, im flattered that you would consider me to have a balanced view of anything, but thank you....
Not much more to report really, the new Mall is continuing apace, whether it will be finished for the season remains to be seen, other developments just down from the gondola (left at the lights) have also progressed. Various apartment developments are further on but none to my knowledge are fully finished. The Crown Pub will be opening 1st or 2nd week of November, should be a good addition ...

Not much more to report really, the new Mall is continuing apace, whether it will be finished for the season remains to be seen, other developments just down from the gondola (left at the lights) have also progressed. Various apartment developments are further on but none to my knowledge are fully finished. The Crown Pub will be opening 1st or 2nd week of November, should be a good addition at the top of town opposite the Tamplier. Gas pipes are being installed thoughout the town and creating even worse road surfaces. On that note, the road to Shilligarnika is being resurfaced, about a third has been completed, the rest has been prepped so i can hopefully predict that it will have a new surface all the way for the season. Gonna make driving to Shilli a lot easier to bypass gondola queues.

Hope this is at least a little enlightening Very Happy

Further to my last post. I drove up to the base of the chair in Dobriniste today, re-surfacing continues, though at this point it is only drainage and kerb stones that are being installed. They are really making a job of it, the kerb stones have foundations that would support any new apartment block in Bansko. Massive amounts of hardcore are being dumped for the new road surface. It should be good and definately will be on my list as a day out in the season.... The longest single piste (7km) ...

This is from the side of the chair lift that you can see going up on right, and yes, the run on the left is as steep as it looks

Not sure if i had a post deleted or if forgot to post it?

Anyway try again. Steve sorry to show my ignorance but where is Dobrinsite in comparison to Bansko - i presume it isn't far away but is it easy to get to without taking up too much skiing time in transfers?

Is it likely to get linked to Bansko (sorry dont know geography of it to know if that is a daft question)

Cheers

Hi mate..

Dobriniste is only ten minutes down the road from Bansko, about another fifteen up to the chair. The chair goes to Bezbog, about 2250m in two stages. There are a couple of tows on Bezbog and a tow at the base for classes. To link would require some major investment, but it is feasible, it about 4.5km to Shilligarnika from Bezbog i have been told and it is possible to walk it in the summer. Another consideration would be to link Bansko to Kulinoto, beyond the golf course... ...

There is potential, its a matter of time, talk is that after
the proposed re-opening of the Akidemika lift and pistes, the expansion will be around the back of Todorka, again rumours, but we will see Very Happy
