Just found your message under your shower gag!

Never been dry slope skiing myself. Infact first time ever on skis was in Borovets. I wasn't keen to take the kids before we went mainy because Rosie can be put off things if they go wrong and I didn't want her refusing to ski having paid etc! But like your lot she had a ball Razz

We have to go during school holidays as I work as an LSA at school. Half term is more expensive than other times but of course is a little later and snow is supposed to be at it's best.

As I said before I have booked independently this year knowing the resort and flight etc. BA's scheduled flight to Sofia is the same price all season and the hotel doesn't put their price up just for half tem either so it does make a difference. Saving £400 on last years price - we were at the Yagoda Village last year and in town at the Alpin this time and also B&B and not S/c. All in it will have cost us £400 each and that includes Annual multi trip travel insurance.

We fell in love with Borovets and the Bulgarians are, in our opinion, lovely people who want to get on in life. With this in mind, they go out of their way to be kind and helpful. Sometimes they are a little curt and may appear rude but once you have heard 2 Bulgarians talking to each other you realise they always sound like they are about to kill someoneExclamation

Where did they stay this year and were they pleased?

Sounds like they won't be happy with dry slopes from now on - did you notice an improvement in their skillsQuestion

Where abouts do you live by the way? We are from Bicester, just outside Oxford - we have been enjoying the snow here today.

Speak again

Love

Ellie

Quick apology - couldn't remember hubbies name, had a look back and checked it was Albert. Thought it was but suddenly panicked it might be Arthur Smile Won't forget next time.

Before I forget look at these photos together and see if Albert can work out where everything is and also spot the differences between summer and winter - and it's more than just the snow!!

Hi Ellie

Just got your message.
How many times have you been to Borovets? Daniel and Albert stayed at the Rila Hotel. Said it was quite basic but comfortable and clean. The food was ok, but they did eat out quite a lot. The Golden Horn was one of their favourites. We have booked to go there next year on the 29th Jan but in the studios his time. Would have liked to go at half term, but unable to as Albert's partner is going to Canada then. Our turn year after.

Wouldnt say that I have noticed a big improvement in Albert's skiing, although he does look a lot more comfy with it. Going for lessons on Sunday, so will be able to tell more then.

We live in a town called Colne in Lancashire - the nearest big town is Burnley. We are about 40 miles from Manchester and Blackpool. All the snow has gone now and has been replaced with rain. Much to Elliott's annoyance, as he wanted to go sledging!

Dont worry about the name thing - he gets called Alfred, Arnold, Arthur and thats without the names I call him!

Do you have one child - Rosie, how old is she? Elliott is 8 and Daniel is 13.
Sorry what do you mean about the photos?

Good Morning Ellie

Did you win?? Very Happy

Poor Sophie - I bet she is sick as a parrot! What a time to get injured. Fingers crossed she'll be ok.

Got lots to do today, taking Elliott dancing this morning - he does streetdancing and is in a disco team. So whilst he is doing that I work out in the gym.(nothing to energetic, but better than nothing!) Working off last nights Booze Booze Booze Wink

Daniel usually has football training, but this has been cancelled as it is still raining.

No! We didn't win but I'd had a glass or 2 before it got underway so I was little help really!! The other couple on our team are from New Zealand so they didn't help much with European & English history either!! That's our excuse anyway.

Rosie is our youngest. She will be 7 in March but thinks she's 17 already! Alister is 8 like Elliott - his birthday is July and he is in yr.4 at school. I work at the local school as an LSA which on the whole I very much enjoy - except we ...

I work at the local school as an LSA which on the whole I very much enjoy - except we have to go on holiday at the expensive times! Simon works as a Surveyor at West Oxon Housing Association in Witney. We live in Sunny Bicester - mainly because someone has to!! Joking apart it is a nice town really and we have been here nearly 12 years now.

Alister enjoys all sports and 'plays' rugby on Sundays. Rosie is into dancing also - ballet and tap though. The street dancing sounds fun and a good way to attract the lads.

I run the local Cub Pack which is my main hobby and Simon is also involved with Scouting. Keeps us out of mischief.

We've got friends coming this afternoon for the evening - should be good fun.

Just read Sophie's note - she lives locally to us. Not quite sure where she managed to find snow around here yesterday! Lets hope the John Radcliffe are kind to her today and let her go skiing otherwise she really is going to be unpopular Crying They go in half term like us but to Pamps. I've been saying to mine all week "tread carefully we don't want to break anything at this late stage!"

Have a great day - I've left my e-mail on this note so you can always write bcak directly.

Love

Ellie

Hi Ellie

Suffering today after last nights Booze Booze Booze Confused Confused
Didnt get to bet till 4am, but dragged myself back our again at 9am to go skiing. Ski instructors must think I look pretty rough. I think I turn up to ski with a hangover most Sundays!! Cannot master the art of pacing myself and stopping when Ive had enough - usually when I realise Ive had enough, its too late Wink
Sorry - its probably me, but cannot find your email address on your message.

I work at Burnley General Hospital in the Pathology Dept, Microbiology. I have been there for 3yrs and love it. Can be a bit gruesome at times, but it is really interesting. My husband has his own mobility business, stairlifts, wheelchairs, scooters etc.
