Just booked the Mura Hotel for New Year week, I know it's too late now, but anyone anything good to say about it?

yep me and family stayed in it a few times, nice hotel, close to the lifts, basic but nice and clean, food. . .about the same as any other hotel, but plenty of nice eating out places so not a problem, nice bar, friendly staff., it is an old hotel but I think it still has charm (I did not like the food but my hubby and sons (20 and 28 ) thought it was ok, but they will eat anything ) We stayed in the Rila and Samokov and all agreed we liked the Mur better, hope you have a fab hol Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ...

Stayed in the Mura the first year it was built, not absolutely sure of the date but it was over twenty five years ago. At that time the Mura was the star of Borovets accomadation, and the bar was very popular with Russian soldiers who gambled with live ammo as chips and piled their rifles in the corner, ordered Vodka which they never paid for, and resented anyone who tried to use the bar. The skiing was accessed by an old fibreglass 4 man bubble going via a middle station which housed a huge Chevrolet diesel engine to drive it. The top runs still had the pomas that are there now. I still have fond memories of the Mura, spacious compared to apartments in France, and the service was excellent, especially if you traded a pair of jeans or as in my case my swatch watch. Happy days Very Happy I also have a memory of eating in a restaurant at the base of the Rila runs, a huge restaurant reminisant of a transport cafe, and cracking a tooth on a pork bone hidden in a dish i was eating Sad not such a fond memory Cool

re: Mura Hotel, Borovets

well. . ... I still think the mura is better than the rila and the samokv, also stayed at the ella, that was nice too, i do think the smaller hotels are so much nicer, we stayed in the Rila and the rooms were feezing, the samokov was horrid, big and unpersonal, so munster you have chosen a nice hotel, food average (same as all the other hotels) mura has a lovely freindly bar and the rooms are always lovely and warm. . . have a great holiday. .. I am sure you will Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
