Musala Pathway

Will be taking my 7 year old to Borovets again this year. Looking at the piste map the Musala Pathway is a green run from top to bottom. A couple of questions;
1. Is it a genuine green run all the way? I don't want to take her down and find it to be too steep for her.
2. To join it at the top do you have to get down the steep path that runs between the first Markujik drag lifts?

re: Musala Pathway

I believe the pathway can be a bit dodgy in places. however there is an easy green run which the instructors use.

re: Musala Pathway

the royal residence pathway is the one to use. Your lad will realy enjoy the green at the top of the gondola and the small drags at the bottom of the rila slope. to answer your post fully I think you do have to go down the steep bit that you mentioned. Don't forget the steep bit after you get off the gondola.

re: Musala Pathway

To get to the start you have to do the steep bit to the bottom of the drags, but if she can snow plow down it she'll be ok, she will just have to push where it goes flat as she won't have inertia to get over that bit.
The pathway is not green for easy, it's green for the easiest way down the mountain, and how hard it is depends on levels of snow etc.
As a caring parent which you clearly are, could you ski it on your own on the first day and then decide based on your knowledge of her ...

There are some steep bits which you can go fast on to get up hills the otherside - if she's not happy going that fast and she can snow plow then push up the hills.
I would say that Musala is harder than royal residence way, but usually has better snow and less ice.

I hope this helps although i feel rather indecisive...
Sorry,
Confused

re: Musala Pathway

Hey Whitey you say your taking your daughter for the second time then i guess she can ski, The pathway is steep in places but only for short streches, and it isn't very wide all the way down.. it is a fabulous run however and as Gen said have a blast down it yourself to check it out. Snow dependant there is some good off-piste thru the trees and a few small jumps to have a go at for the kids... My little one loves it, if you have ski school booked the instructor will advise you, if not ask ...

Enjoy Razz

re: Musala Pathway

Thanks everybody for your replies and good advice. Will see what the conditions are like when we go (8th March) and blast down on my own while my daughter is at ski school. Can then deicde whether or not to take her down - she snowplowed down to mid station last year so she is pretty confident. Not too sure what she'll make of it all if PP goes flying past in his thong!!
