In a far off cold, and lonely place,
A smile appears on an orphans face,
Why should he smile, what right has he,
To ask for love, and pester me,
What right has he to want a life,
Free of pain and toil and strife,
What right has he for games and toys,
That we reserve for nicer boys,
Lets turn away, lets pass them by,
And pretend we never heard them cry,
Lets count our blessings one by one,
And warm ourselves when the day is done,
The kids arn't mine, it not my fault,
If begging's ...
In a far off cold, and lonely place,
A smile appears on an orphans face,
Why should he smile, what right has he,

Lets count our blessings one by one,
And warm ourselves when the day is done,
The kids arn't mine, it not my fault,
If begging's all that they've been taught,
So who cares if the night is wild,
Don't ask for help - you orphan child.
I lie in bed my day complete,
With snuggled arms and toasty feet,
But sleep I can't, though meek and mild,
I can't forget the orphan child.
I can't forget those pearcing eyes,
That followed me with sheer surprize,
I can't forget the frightened look,
That followed every step I took,
My head a mess, but my concience clear,
I'll help these kids and rid their fear.
And one by one they WILL be warm,
And never fear another storm.
I'll make a difference, the facts are filed,
I'm gonna help the orphan child.
A cry goes out accross the nation,
For all to give a small donation,
For clothes and toys and food and heating,
That was denied at every meeting,
And people rallied far and wide,
To help the kids of the countrysde,
So now there's hope all be it slight,
That children there will see the light,
And play again as childen must,
In mud and dirt and sand and dust.
So thank you all your gifts are piled
To help our precious ---- orphan child.
Thank you I'm speachless and this is a first
my eyes full of tears and ready to burst
I've never been more touched and this it is true
my heart it is open, no longer sad and blue
Thank you much more
Than my poem can say,
Because you were thoughtful
In such a nice way!
this my poem to thank you to thank you and say
The memory of your poem Will be remembered, forever and a day.
Pete Many, many thanks to you!
You brought real delight
And helped make my day
More happy ...

And helped make my day
More happy and more bright!
You seem to do such thoughtful things
That have your special touch.
It certainly was nice of you,
Thanks very, very much!
this is just a poem to thank you
And a line to tell you too.
i want you to know how much to me your poem meant
i'm glad you shared it, and on the furum you sent
Nothing could have been more welcome
Than the thoughtful words from you.
And as the years shall come and go
Your poem i will read for pleasure
and the memories of it i will trully treasure.
Thanks' seems such a small word...
to cover thatI'll never forget it' feeling
as i read it i saw, it was full of such meaning x
Pete and Amanda, those poems are beautiful, Carole I think it would be lovely to have a page on the website for poems, even though they probably make me cry
There is no doubt in my mind Pete that I must make a link for your poem and PJ's reply on the website - they are from the heart and therefore need to be read as often as possible.
These poems say so much about what we all feel and are trying to do for these kids I felt they should not be hidden away on a separate page. I have therefore just designed a new front page - and these poems take pride of place
Laying here in the freezing cold,
every day I知 growing old.
Growing older by every minute,
Am I truely living in it?
In the here and now or in the future or past,
wish I had freedom at last.
Dying on the inside so many times a day,
even though I take time to pray.
Winter comes and winter goes,
when will it be gone, I ask?
Finished being winter at last?
I look inside my heart and find,
the winter I'm trying to get rid of is mine.
Inside my heart,
tearing me apart ...
Laying here in the freezing cold,
every day I知 growing old.
Growing older by every minute,
Am I truely living in it?
In the here and now or in the future or past,
wish I had freedom at last.
Dying on the inside so many times a day,
even though I take time to pray.
Winter comes and winter goes,
when will it be gone, I ask?
Finished being winter at last?
I look inside my heart and find,
the winter I'm trying to get rid of is mine.
Inside my heart,
tearing me apart.
Let it go and be free,
I'm down on my knee.
Hoping for a better tomorrow,
yearing for a brighter future,
waiting for the feel of summer!
Waiting.........
Waiting.........
Waiting.........
They filled their world with utmost bliss
Then left him in Stoikite without a goodbye kiss.
Now that he feels he is all alone
his little hearts has turned to stone
People went and people came
But their love is just not the same
he thinks of his parents rejected again and again
As he waits his parents love in vain
Soon he値l be full-grown man,
And fate has one more ugly plan.
On his 18th birthday he値l be told to leave,
He値l will be given no reprieve.
With no money in his pockets, just the clothes upon his back,
Some bread and some water in the tatters of his rucksack.
With nothing to offer by way of grades or skill
No one will offer him a job to fore fill
He値l have to beg and to steel just to make two ends meet
With barely enough food to eat
