NEVER AGAIN

I have just returned from a 4day skiing trip in Bansko. A trip i will do never again.
I was in ASPA VILA SPA HOTEL
-My room was on the 5th floor with NO ELEVATOR working.
-The personel at the reception don't speak English!
-They forgot to put towels in the room and i had to explain to the reception what a "towel" is and i had to wait for them to find me a clean one for 15 minutes!
-I had paid for dinner and they offered me cold salad bar, which they never refill the empty plates because ...

-I had paid for dinner and they offered me cold salad bar, which they never refill the empty plates because the personel was playing table tennis at the back room!!!
-There was no phone in the room (5 floors downwalk to contact the "no-english speaking" reception desk).
-There was no asphalt outside the hotel, only mud terrain (imagine me carrying the luggage on the mud)
-They didn't refill fruit juice on breakfast buffet, and they asked me to pay for a glass of juice they brought me from the hotel bar.
On Sunday morning we went for the 2nd ski day.
We had pre-paid the ski pass and the equipment.
-We had to wait for aprox 2 hours inside the lifl hall, when a man from the security (bulgarian speaking of course) informed us that the main lifts ("gondola") were damaged.
-The personel said that it was windy to avoid giving us our money back.(the live-cam was displaying 6m/s)
-We asked for our money back (25€ per person) and they refused. We went to find the manager at 2nd floor but was no manager, no-one at all. Finally the manager appeared and told us to get our refund from the cashier. The cashier refused (!) again and when i kindly asked her to speak english, in very angry Bulgarian said "this is Bulgaria and i will speak Bulgarian".

The roads were full of garbage and mud, food was expensive and bad and the Bulgarian "hospitallity" unforgetable.
Even though the ski center was great and the tracks fantastic, i will never again visit Bulgaria.
I prefer GREECE,with Falakro,Parnasssos,Seli,Vasilitsa,Kalavrita,Karpenisi ski centers, good service, hospitallity, good food, friendly people and European behavor, or the Alps (only 100€ more than Bansko by plane).
Listen to my advice. DON'T VISIT BANSKO.STAY AT HOME.

re: NEVER AGAIN

I have no knowledge of the hotel, however I can confirm that it was chaos in the Gondola on the day in question. ULEN really have to sort their organisation out, they are dragging Bansko backwards!

re: NEVER AGAIN

Giannis, I accept that you like Greece as much as the rest of the countries, but in your post you stated "I prefer Greece". My question still stands, why go somewhere that you don't like when you prefer your home country?
καλή ημέρα

re: NEVER AGAIN

I didn't know my friend. It was my first time there. Now i know, that's why i prefer Greece. The ski center was good but you need really hard studies on tourism and organization.Don't forget that the touristic industry can give you lots of money if you know the job! Wink
