Has anybody ever spent New Years eve in the Hotel Rila. Does anything special happen, I am told that there are fireworks etc set off the mountain. I am also told that the Rila does a rather spectacular gala dinner etc and that all of the bars are out on the slopes at 12 o'Clock......
was there last year, but not staying in the Rila.
Most restrants are ticket only, so if you're planning on eating out get your tikets early.
Midnight on the slopes is a cross between the best firework display i've ever seen and what it must feel like to be in the middle of a war zone!

Just make sure you're in front of the Rila at 11.50 to get the full benefit of it all!
I can't wait, going out on 27th December and there will be plenty of skiing and snow!!!!!
I'm going to try and not pass out so early this year... Black Tiger here we come!!!!
I was there last New Year - the gala dinner is OK the fireworks are great at 12 - they go on for quite a while so wrap up warm - I think alot of them are homemade as they are pretty scary!! The bar doesn't do anything particularly special tho
