New Years Eve Borovets

We are staying at the Mura over New Year, and there is some sort of obligation to pay for a gala dinner on New Years Eve - Are we better going to a bar?

Alpina seems to get mentioned a lot, whats on, is there a meal included, do we need to book and if so what will it cost?

Were staying at the Mura over new year as well, didnt realise there was an obligation to go to the gala. Where did you find this?

Well obligation to 'go' isn't quite right, an obligation to 'pay to go' is closer to the mark!

It might be rolled into your cost or you may have got away with it, but every hotel we tried to book was charging an additional premium for a 'gala dinner'.

Ah I see - we went through Thomas Cook so it may have been included in the cost without us knowing!

Ive read somewhere else that there will be fireworks outside the Rila hotel at some point and also heard the Alpina mentioned but will probably decide what to do when were out there!

Paul & Munster, we're a group of 5 30 somethings staying at the Malina Villas (no one ever mentions them!) and we'll be on the look out for like minded groups of people to share the celebrations. Heard a lot about the Alpina, not just for New Year, but am assuming its fully booked by now. I think we are just going in to the centre & see what we find. How many of you are there & young or old? I don't mind hanging with either!!
