New to skiing

Hi, I need help. My wife, my 2 children(age 7 and 4) and I are going to Bansko on 21st Jan. None of us have ever skied before so need help in telling me what i need to get in terms of ski packs/Nursery etc.
Do you get Beginners Ski Pack for adults?
What options are available to the children?
Please, all help is very welcome

thanks
Mark

re: New to skiing

We always book before we go as this seems to be the cheapest way. You can normally book in resort but this is normally more expensive, especially if you need everything. Only thing we have found is that to pre book a ski pack you have to book it with the travel agents you book the holiday with as other agents wont let you book the ski pack alone.

hope this helps

re: New to skiing

Thanks for your replies so far.

I have just booked flights with Whiz Air. I booked flights and accommodation seperately so have not used a travel agent.
Do you think this will cause me problems?
Do you know who i can book the beginners packs through before i go?

thanks
Mark

re: New to skiing

you may be able to get something through the company you have booked the accomodation through. Failing that you can get the pack in resort but as i said it does cost more. Who did you book the accomodation with?

re: New to skiing

mark,

Have you booked your taxi to Bansko from Sofia yet. I fly in with a friend on the wizz air flight from luton on the 21st Jan. Perhaps we could share and split the cost???

re: New to skiing

Hi Mark

There are one or two people at least that contribute to the site that can offer packs and lessons, sure one of them will see your post before too long. Other than that, Google "Hunters Ski School Borovets" - they come highly recommended and I think they can sort everything out for you.

We learnt in Boro, you'll have a great time.

re: New to skiing

Thanks everyone.

I am staying in a friends apartment so haven't booked through a company as such. He has never skied in Bansko and knows as much as me about ski packs etc

Rich - Nothing booked yet but will need to arrange something. I think we arrive at Sofia at about 6pm.

regards,
Mark
