re: Next season..

Deux Alpes is pretty much an all local resort so the prices are reasonable - we would eat at the foot of the mountain for 12 euro plat du jour of restaurant standard food on a very pleasant deck. Its about the same throughout the mountain. Beer's a bit of a shocker at 6 euro but the local wine is OK.

The season ticket's a steal but as its only immediate locals and seasonnaires who buy them they can make them super cheap - off hand it worked out worth getting if you were skiing 3 weeks or more there. This is how it should be in Bansko. I don't know whether Deux Alpes is privately run or owned by the municipality, which would make a huge difference to pricing policy.

re: Next season..

Great video of the Deux Alpes mountain biking event, got to admit the French do it with Style, like the biking through the Bar.

re: Next season..

Except what your saying Mikey, the lift pass here is a bit of a shocker considering the area... They have made very slight improvements over previous seasons now including mountain insurance and only increasing the pass by 3lv (6 day)... biggest improvement is the season pass, 740lv... which when you consider is only 15 days skiing if you were buying daily...
Sadly my experience of BG business sense is to put prices up when profits start falling, Ulen is a bank at the end of the day, lets ...

Sadly my experience of BG business sense is to put prices up when profits start falling, Ulen is a bank at the end of the day, lets hope they have a bit more savvy, lift prices to be announced, will be interesting to see any changes...
The `killer' season pass rates perhaps do not cover all French resorts, if memory serves an `all area' pass in Espace Killy related to around three and a half weeks normal pass cost Surprised fortunately my company paid for mine, but i remember it being around £600.00, and that was quite a few years ago. It may be now that they are offering better discounts, especially as their visitor numbers are falling dramatically like most areas in the Alps.

re: Next season..

Christmas prices for les arcs for 3 people £3,000 total half board, christmas in Bansko 3 people self catering appartment and including transfers £750 total. don't think we will spend £2250 on food and drink. As far as I can see there is no comparison in value for money.

I know the ski area isnt as big and the resort needs some improvement, but when you have a teenager who needs a great deal of improvement in there skiing, Bansko wins hands down.

re: Next season..

I entirely agree, but that's so cheap I'd be concerned about the place they will put you in. Where will you stay?

re: Next season..

All booked independently. Flights ba, apartment private let and transfers. Know where apartment is and looks great so no worries. Looked at les arc the same way but still 2k and friends last year paid 17 euro each for a burger.
