To be honest that could be completely beleivable about the lifts not being safe, they're mega old in Borovets with old paperstyle ticket to use to get through turnstiles
(which is very easy to loose - not me my fiancee lost hers but lucky it was on last day and we kinda made do with mine a bit illegally like).
Shame Borovets doesn't have the good new lifts like Bansko.
BUT SERIOUSLY... why aren't there many people skiing on the Rila Webcam Boro?

The lifts have been closed all week for maintenance, the season is open but the package tours only start this weekend and some of us have jobs to go to - so basically there is no-one there and they can't be bothered to open the whole mountain for 50 skiers. They better have it open tomorrow or there's going to be a reckoning....re: No skiers
The card system in Pamporovo works well, but some of the lifts are in serious need of an upgrade. The drag lift on the wide blue slope on the south side of the mountain is basically suicide. The walk back up carrying your board is hard work, but at least you will be alive at the top - justre: No skiers
complete cobblers, the lifts in boro have all been working and weve just had the most unbelievably fantastic days skiing, to all the domm mongers 'get stuffed' the pistes are infantastic shape theres new signage all over the place the gondola station is much easier to get out of now, so what if a lift pass icosts £90 for the week it was sheer heaven today, and you can only ski so many kms per day. I'm coming tomorrow! Can't wait! Can you get one of those 'toys' that go up to hours !!!!??? Just an indication of my skiing ability...BUT hopefully I will have improved by the end of the week!re: No skiers
Winter slope phil, I agree.My sister was hit in the face by the hand grip last feb. luckily (if you can call it lucky) she had sunglasses on and only ended up with a big black eye but it could easily ended up fracturing her eye socket.
a skier fell but hung on to the wire so it shot back up and caught her in the face.
