My mum took up skiing at 63. She's always joined in with all age groups. More and more older people are skiing for longer, can't see PP etc giving up just because they've reached a certain age. Seen some older people fitter than younger people
Is there a dry slope near to you? At our local slope there is an over 50s club, and they have a annual ski trip.
But both times I've been to Bulgaria I've been in groups with people older than me (I'm now 50something LOL) but most have been way younger than me and sometimes younger than my own children! OK, so when my knees start to hurt they just hurtle past me, but it's still loads of fun.
All kudos to your mum, I hope I'm still able to ski when I'm 63.
She would scare the life out of me watching her. As she's small, she would often get wiped out and have to be brought down, but would go straight back up. She loved it when she saw older people skiing. One guy she met was 90
Just come back from boro. At Gatwick airport saw elderly lady dressed in blouse and skirt, hiking boots and a ruck sack, we wondered where she was going. She appeared at our hotel. It turned out she was traveling on her own, was in her eighties and has had a ski lesson, she also was doing a degree at university. Got to take my hat off to her, hope i live to be like her.
