We too are going to the Rila on the 7th and travelling with my 4 young children. Have been to the Rila several times but this will be the first time for the kids.

Cannot comment on Inghams as have always been with Neilsons.

I have never managed to find any fresh milk and always take a box of little milk cartons for Teas and Coffees etc.

All the restaurants have always appeared to be family friendly but I highly recomment the steak house opposite the Rila (can't remember what it is called though)

There is a small ice rink at the resort which looks great for the kids and there is a kindergarton at the Rila which always looks full of highly entertained children. Activities appear to range from making pots to face painting etc. The swimming pool in the Rila is excellent and makes a change from snow based activities.

All in all, I think the children will be fine. Mine are 10, 9, 6 and 5 but only the two eldest will be skiing (have drafted in Grandparents to do the honours with the 2 youngest, so they will be seeking enertainment also !)

We are flying from Gatwick at 3.15 - what about you ?

We went during half term last year and off again on 14th. We did use the Inghams kindergarten and it was absolutely BRILLIANT!! Your kids will have a whale of a time and so will you knowing they are in such good hands. Our 2 were 7 and 5 last year.

The children were encouraged to ski every morning and the younger ones who didn't want to go out after lunch stayed at the Ela with one of the Nannies to do quiet activities. Some afternoons they bumboarded instead of skiing. In the week only one 3 year old didn't ski at all. Our 2 skiied both am and pm.

The kindergarten used the Albena ski school and the instructors there were brilliant with them - we had Tanya, Ivan and Pancho look after ours. There were 15 children (the maximum) during half term and on the slopes there were 3 instructors and if all out 2 nannies. They skied for 11/2 hour am and same again pm.

The ski school made a video which really is worth buying - we hadn't appreciated just how much time they had spent with the instructors and felt guilty when we watched it that we had given them a small tip at the end as we had our instructor!

When they weren't skiing they were able to have their faces painted, do colouring, watch a video, play games etc. It is excellent value for money and really helps you to feel relaxed and enjoy your holiday.

As for milk - we managed to get it most days - we were self catering at the Yagoda Village - from the small supermarket at the back of the Rila.

I really hope this helps put your mind at rest - I personally would recommend the Inghams kindergarten to anyone with children under 8. I just hope the nannies this year are as great as Alison and Lisa were last year.
