Official Start of Season?

Official Start of Season?

I was thinking of booking for the 19th of December, but have noticed that this site says that the season does not start until the 21st, is this definate, and does it mean that the lifts etc would'nt be working (and I would miss a full day of skiing)?

I hope not I am supposed to be going on the 19th. I will be disapointed if everything is closed.

I've not decided yet, I was just thinking of going on an allocation on arrival basis and hoping for the best. I went to pamps in Feb (ended up in the Zora, quite nice) and had a great time, and I was thinking Borovets this time to try somewhere new Smile

All resorts will be fully open from 19 December. Snow Permitting!

I am going to borovets. I went there last year (2nd jan) and had a great time. Thought I would play safe and go back to where i know. I have heard good things about pamps so either way i am sure you will have a good time.

Hi DaveyBoy, The official start of the season date is relative to the holiday company you travel with (for my sins i used to work for one..) This year i believe there will be 3 different arrival days so depending which company you book with will dictate your 1st day. Rest assured if theres enough snow on the ground all depots and lifts will be working.. often before tourists arrive. Locals are on the slopes first chance they get and if the lifts arnt working the resort loses money.

Fingers crossed for a monster 1st snowfall around the 10th - 15th Dec and we will all be grining! My guess is, it will Great snow conditions all season. Let it Be..
