The only other option, they have used before is the mid section split on Blue 5 but like it has been mentioned not too much in the way of problems i would say.

While on the subject of races, the previous seasons have seen WC events run in Bansko, and while quite successful from the organisers and racers point of view, there has been so much press about monsterous queues, the mountain closed etc... Well, that was enough to put off a lot of visitors, and the result was that it was actually no problem at all.. the runs closed only involved a section of red3, red4 and black9 (tomba).. last season saw every other run open, fantastic conditions and not ...

Hi,

me and my family have planned to stay in Bansko between 16-23.02.2013, but there is a IBU European Championship Biathlon.
As this is our first time in Bansko, we are concerned that there will be tracks closed.

Can you please let us know if this should be our concern?

The biathlon track will be centered around the top gondola station and all bar one or two beginner areas no slopes will be affected.

Will the Tomba slope be affected during the biathlon? and are there going to be huge queues, like last year, during the FIS championship? thank you!
