Our first lock-in

Had our first lock-in on Tuesday night, although not sure if we call it a lock-in as we left the door open and only stayed till 5.45, but hey ho!!!

The sun was just setting as we left and the mountain was totally empty - absolutely beautiful. There was 14 of us in total, including a Bobby and another instructor, so was perfect. Wouldn't want to leave it any later as by the time we got down the Mussala path, it was pitch-black, however the head-torches worked perfectly!!

re: Our first lock-in

So doing the run back in the dark with 3 beginner kids might not be a good idea then ;-)

Hi Kas & Bobby

Glad to see things are happening at the White House.

I've been watching a couple of the sunsets via the webcams, it does look extremely beautiful and a lovely time of day to be on the Mountain. Twilight ski down would also be good.

Will have to make this happen when I'm out W/C 5th Feb (and 5th March!!!)

Cheers Danny

Hi Kas&Bobby, any chance of a lock in on thursday next week as one of our party is a beginner and i think that he will have trouble if he tries on a tuesday (after only 3 days) the rest of us will be there daily thats for sure !

re: Our first lock-in

Hey Kas, it is possible to get up from to pathway to the white house, remember some years ago I want to go to the Jastrebez hut and ended up in a pine-forrest and some cliffs...

Hope to meet you if not up there down in some restaurant or bar as last year...

re: Our first lock-in

Hi Sune,

Yes it is - it's about 1 1/2hours walk - you walk all the way up mussala pathway and then across the bottom of Markudjik 1 and up that way.

For everyone else - we will do it Thursday (I am in UK again for a day on Wednesday) BUT it will be subject to snow as if we don't get any more this week, it won't be possible...
