THats because bulgarian piste maganement do not know how to prepare the snow. They do not have the equipment or knowledge to allow for this snowfall to be coverted into good sking conditions on piste

Where did you get your degree in bulgarian piste maintenance?

re: Over 100cm fell up top!

they are just wind up merchants. conditions in borovets are perfect at the moment. None of the runs are closed so they don't know what they are talking about.

re: Over 100cm fell up top!

you dont need a degree, its called common sense. snowed nearly 5 days ago and the pistes are still closed according to somebody else, not me and on another thread also. If that is true, the reason the pistes are not open is because they are not good at maintaining them, its pure and simple fact.

actually thats B******s, if you understood anything about piste management you d have a clearer idea of whats going on, and the slopes are open dont always believe what it says on the forecast sites, certainly not without checking the dates!!!!!! they are not always updated daily

re: Over 100cm fell up top!

It was on this site that they said on a number of the threads that the pistes are not open. You've highlighted so eloquently that is not true so thats fine. However, my postings and opinion was based on inforamtion on this website stating the pistes were not open. If this had been the case it would be bad piste maintenace that could be the only explanation for pistes being closed after last weeks snowfall. However, no pistes closed so end of conversation but FYI i probaly understand piste ...

As usual the responses to a perfectly reasonable question are met with the usual defensive and aggressive tones of those who are either not there or who are there but have blinkers on or who are there because they have a vested interest in being there!

Damo, skiolot, fraser - Given that this thread was started on 21 Feb after reports of loads of snow it would therefore follow that runs would be open with ideal ski conditions and certainly all open by 23 Feb!

However, this very site ...

Damo, skiolot, fraser - Given that this thread was started on 21 Feb after reports of loads of snow it would therefore follow that runs would be open with ideal ski conditions and certainly all open by 23 Feb!

However, this very site (Bulgariaski.com) stated on 23 Feb (the day before my original post) that Yastrebets 3, Markujik 1, Markujik 2A, Markujik 3, Martinovi Baraki 4 and Sitnyakovo where all CLOSED! Seemed to contradict all other advise that all runs are open and ski conditions perfect as other posts on this site have subsequently reported that runs remain closed since that date!

I will again state the same - So much snow, 3 days to piste, yet runs are still closed Question

If runs are closed as a result of high winds, avalanche warnings, safety issues or piste management issues then please direct your responses to such as this gives a better indication to those reading this rather than the sarcastic responses received!

Continued references to the 'Mikey' issue has absolutely no relevence to this thread as it is too often used by the usual suspects to detract from the question!
