re: PASSPORT INFO

99.9% sure that all countries want at least 6 months on your passport, we had this a few years ago with my brother who had to make a mad dash down to newport to renew passports, you could phone the Bulgarian embassy to check but to be on the save side I would get them renewed, on the bright side you will love Borovets and you will love the people as for skiing make your own mind up !!! enjoy.

I believe that any EU national is only required to produce evidence of their EU nationality and identity in order to be admitted to BG or any EU member country. This evidence can take the form of a valid passport or national identity card (if the UK had them!) but the document / card used must be valid for three months after the proposed date of departure from that country – i.e. your return home date.

The problem may not be with the BG border police but with the airline that you try to fly out of the UK with, as they are fined if passengers are refused entry to a country and have to be returned home.

Always best to be on the safe side!

re: PASSPORT INFO

Mine runs out in May and i went to Borovets in January and Andorra in Feb with no problem,so you don't need six months.

I e-mailed easyjet + rang the people from the first link and was told the passport is valid for travel up until date of expiry for EU countries

http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/europe/bulgaria

But according to this link you need 3 months

Its not 6 months but it may still may need 3???
May be worth double checking

re: PASSPORT INFO

A few years ago a family were having difficulty at check in and even when we were down at the gate, it turned out one of them only had 1 month left on passport and the airline/tour company were phoning around to see if they would be allowed to enter BG . It was very last minute (they were last on the plane)that it was ok'd but they were very stressed and uncertain if they were to be allowed. (they told us on the bus to resort)

re: PASSPORT INFO

There is obviously some confusion here but the Bulgarian Embassy in London website states;

‘Foreign citizens entering Bulgarian territory have to present a passport valid for at least three months beyond the holder’s period of stay in Bulgaria’.
