PEEEED Balkan Cancelled Flight!

Hi all ,

What are your experiences of balkan holidays. We have just had confirmation from them that our flight from Edinburgh is cancelled. They said they can switch us to Newcastle but with no compensation!. Also If I book the bloody thing again by myself Same 9 days / packs etc from Newcastle it would be £400 cheaper!.

Well cancel it then (they can't refuse that), and book it again from Newcastle.

With regards to Balkan, I've always found them excellent.

Thats right Insider.

I've noticed that Balkan are trying to extend their UK regional flight programme in the winter, and offering more choice to it's customers.

I'm sure they don't take the decision lightly to cancel any flight, and only do it as a last resort.

which week is this for? Last year they had Edinburgh picking us up at Humberside & vice versa on flight home. I suppose with all this in the news about global warming they've got to ensure they have full flights, however I do sympathise re no compensation if its loads cheaper from Newcastle.
They haven't told us so far they are going to do this but there's still time, we fly 24.2.07.

I guess no compensation because the time period is outside the time for compensation ie it wasnt at short notice giving you time to book another holiday.

Consolodating flights due to the impact on the environment. Thats a good one, I wonder how long it will take tour operators to use this to escape paying compensation.

My parents had a poor experience of Balkan Holidays earlier this year, for a summer holiday. The week before they were due to depart they got told they couldn't have the 2-destination trip they had booked because there wasn't enough takers, and were offfered the whole time in a poorer hotel. They cancelled altogether, received compensation and re-booked with Thomson or someone for a better hotel, cheaper.

well you can if their flight supplements are too high - not sure about Balkan but most tour operators rip off the Scots and those wanting to travel from their regional airport

The Flight suplement is based on the contracted price between the airline and the airport for laning the aircraft. This bit is nothing to do with BH the Tour Operator, more the contracted price BH Air has agreed on or whtever airline will fly the route.
