Hi - I have tried to search for this topic, but came up with a lot of people enjoying themselves there instead.
I'm off to Pamps on 5th March for my second ever ski trip - by which you can gather that I am still at the wobbly stage. I have also just found out I am pregnant. Can someone tell me if there is anything non-skiing to do in Pamps during the day ? Unfortunately I've been told I can't swim either as have an ear infection (I guess its just one of the those things).

One of my group found that she was pregnant the day before we left, obviously made a difference with drinking and smoking, but she still went skiing most days...
There was a discussion on pregnancy and skiing a few weeks ago. You should try to retrieve it by clicking the search button and searching on "pregnant or pregnancy".
The views were divided but it all depends really how many months pregnant you are, and how you feel about skiing while pregnant.
The hotels in Pamps have beauty rooms, and there are the trips mentioned by others...but when we were there a couple of weeks ago, one of our groups husbands couldn't ski due to a bad knee - he just walked the mountains, went up and down on the ski lifts and met the rest of us for lunch at a pre-arranged restaurant.
Put a posting on for 'JueH' - she's just returned from 2 weeks in Pamps with no skiing - she's a regular poster and I'm sure ...
Hi Maccam
Congratulations on the pregnancy.

I am assuming there is a special reason why you are so indisposed. Frankly I got injured secon day some years ago and there is a limit to how many massages tec you can do in a day. Cancel and go to a health club for a week in the uk
where are you staying. I did not ski last year because of a dodgy knee and was bored because everyone was up the mountain! Went up to meet the other half at lunchtime but there are lots of gentle walks
I know what you are going thru i have recently had an operation on my knee so i cant ski either but have the pleasure of my 2 year old girl to entertain while my wife skis sledging looks good for me
I went to Pamps last year (first time ever skiing, at age 60:-)), and the previous year (obviously as a non-skier).
TBH, I had a lot more fun as a new, novice skier - the slopes are relatively easy, the instructors generally very good, and you'll probably find enough congenial company in your group to make the effort worthwhile.
OTOH, if you are sure you don't want to take the risk because of your pregnancy, (and remember it's your call, not anyone else's!), it's quite feasible to walk ...

OTOH, if you are sure you don't want to take the risk because of your pregnancy, (and remember it's your call, not anyone else's!), it's quite feasible to walk around the pisted area, unlike some snottier resorts. The nice gentle green from the top by the TV tower is an excellent outing, just remember that there are skiers using it, so keep to one side and don't make sudden movements;-)
I didn't find Pamps itself to be very interesting or charming during the day, while everyone else was out on the piss^Hte, and hotel swimming pools, beauty treatments, jacuzzi etc. have limited appeal.
Hope this helps, and that you have agreat time whatever you decide.
