Pamps – Wanted - Advice on ski runs

After going to Pamps last year as a beginner, I tended to stay on the main green (run 6) from the top, also the blue (run 1).

I now want to be a bit more adventurous and try some of the reds, but looking at the piste map, it looks like all the reds, (Numbered 2,3,4 & 5) seem to turn into blacks, then back into reds.

My question is, which runs would be ok for an intermediate. I’m not too keen on starting down a red run, (run 2) only to find it turns into ‘The Wall’ halfway down ...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Pamp Pete, I expect you’ll be able to answer this one. Might see you in the bar from 22nd….

re: Pamps – Wanted - Advice on ski runs

Hi Top Cat.

Been to Pamps last three years, but not a fantastic skier. Last year we did a red a few times which was OK, but I don't know the number. Looking at a ski map, I think it would be the one furthest right. To get to it, go to the top of the three man lift to the tower. As you get to the top, you will see the nursery slope just to the right with the small drag. If you ski through that, then that takes you to the beginning of the red. Be carefull though as there is a junction where ...

your first run shuld be the green to get your ski legs back.

But try the red run to the right of the three man chair lift it`s not to bad, if you can handle the blue run. You get to it by going down past the rope drag to the right, at the top of the three man

The red run that takes you to the wall does have an alternative route to get you down avoiding the wall and despite being narrowish is quite easy to ski. Where it starts to flattern out you'll see the run to your right going through the trees. Straight ahead is the top of the wall

That is the red run to the left of the tree man chair, it is quite short. Next time you are there try the one to the right it goes to the bottom, ends up to the right of the three men chair lift

Is that one of the runs that pass under the 3 man lift near the top. They look alittle steep and long. I tried the wall last year but those runs from the chair lift looked harder.

No it goes round the back of the ridge, and comes out to the right of the three man chair. If yiu look at the map of the runs it is the last one on the right

go to the top at the tower. off the lift and down the road in front of you. It will bend to the left then down a slope, keep going straight. you cut across to a rid red that runs down to a restaurant etc.

Its a nice wide and not to steep red. loads of run to learn those big cutting turns.

It also has a t bar going back up so if its your sort of thing you can go up and down all day.

Also from the top going a little right a nice long run down the back. Stops at a button or further ...

Also from the top going a little right a nice long run down the back. Stops at a button or further around the back onto a road way. little icy and narrow with a few sections steep. best to try that towards the end of the week if your not to sure.

re: Pamps – Wanted - Advice on ski runs

On the map It appears that one of the sections is a black run. Just where you come out through onto a wide section. Is it similar to ski as the other red runs
