Pamps 29th - Speako the lingo??


Hi All!!

Does anyone know any basic Bulgarian (spelled phonetically if poss!!). Just things like "Thank You" "Please" "How much?" - that type of thing, but anything welcomed please!

Anyone going to Pamporovo 29th Jan??

Also, don't foget that when in Bulgaria, shaking your head means "yes" and nodding your head meand "no"!! Took me a few days to get used to that. So, when someone offers you a drink remember to shake your head and not nod - try that after a few rounds and it gets quite interesting!

Are you pulling our legs saying that you shake your head if you want a drink and nod it if you don't want one??? I can't believe that its nearly as bad as playing the Fuzzy Duck drinking game. Lethal!!

I'm being 100% honest. I was totally confused (doesn't take much!) the firsat day we were on the slopes and went to have lunch in one of the restaurants on the slopes. I walked up to a table of people that had finished their lunch and were just getting their jackets etc and I asked if we could have their table; the guy (a local) looked at me and gruffed something in a deep voice and nodded his head! I took that to mean that he was happy for us to have his table - how wrong I was! It was ...
