Does anyone know any basic Bulgarian (spelled phonetically if poss!!). Just things like "Thank You" "Please" "How much?" - that type of thing, but anything welcomed please!
Also, don't foget that when in Bulgaria, shaking your head means "yes" and nodding your head meand "no"!! Took me a few days to get used to that. So, when someone offers you a drink remember to shake your head and not nod - try that after a few rounds and it gets quite interesting!

I'm being 100% honest. I was totally confused (doesn't take much!) the firsat day we were on the slopes and went to have lunch in one of the restaurants on the slopes. I walked up to a table of people that had finished their lunch and were just getting their jackets etc and I asked if we could have their table; the guy (a local) looked at me and gruffed something in a deep voice and nodded his head!
