Pamps Castle

Anybody stayed there?
Exactly where is it?
Thinking of staying there next year (perhaps) as a change from the Malina Chalets which are a bit basic but ideally situated.
Any reports, good or bad would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

One word "Fantastic" - It offers door step skiing and is situated on the run that takes you from Studenets to Ski Centre 1. The apartments are well equipped with some lovely views. The tavern and Castle pubs have some of the cheapest food and drink in the resort....the local dishes are delicious. We've an apartment there and have been for last two seasons, must say all staff are great and there's a really friendly atmosphere about the place. I'm sure Arron and Nicki will update you also.

Thanks very much for that.
We normally get our lessons and gear from Peter at Interski, would it be much of a problem getting to Ski Centre 2?
Also do the appartments have baths, as that is a real downside to the Malina Chalets?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there we go to Steves Ski school at mid station, once again superb service and excellent branded gear. If you wanted to use Interski, to be honest, you would need to leave your gear at the castle in the ski locker/wardrobe on site. In the morning you can take a short ski or walk to ski centre one, take the quiet lift (no queues at all) to mid station. Then ski down the green to Ski Centre 2. Obviously it would more straightforward to go to Steves, I cant fault them in any way.

Im afraid the apartments dont have baths, and at first I thought this would be a problem for us with young children. We however got a way round it and because they are so deep filled the plug hole and the kids sat in it lol! Although I know this is no good for adults - we soon got used to the shower, says her who has a bath seven nights a week. To be honest, because everything about this place is so fab, the bath is soon forgot about.

re: Pamps Castle

Hello, we have been in the Castle last winter 2007. Its a perfect location. Normally in and out skiing, thats very easy. I have been there last summer also. Small restaurant in Castle 1, but good food.
Only for night life you need a taxi or car to drive in the Centrum.
I'm looking snow-info because i want to go in a couple of weeks.

Hi Bruno if you manage to get back there in a few weeks you will see that the Castle Tavern has been extended and refurbished and looks great - the food is still excellent and very reasonable - I hope to get back in a few weeks also but very dependant on snow! To be honest we spent more or less 5 our of 7 nites round the castle in the evening - we really loved the cosy atmosphere! Mindyou there was 11 of us including kids and we had great crack- so want to be there NOW!!

I can vouch for all the good things Sheila has said.

It should also be mentioned that they have a jaccuzzi, sauna, gym and treatments available at cheaper rates than other places in the area.

As for location the Castle is situated just below the Studenets mid station.
