Pamps Lifts

Hi

I am visiting Pamporovo for the first time. I have read somewhere that snowboarders are not allowed to use the drag lifts, is this true?

Also the webcams on this site show snow in pamps when I found another webcam on another site showing the snow shack as a grassy field. I am trying to gauge what the snow conditions are like but no two sites give the same report.

Ye thats right us boarders are not allowed to use the drag lifs, well not when iv been there anyway?
there is snow at the mo but not a great deal id say there is now a base formed and just needs a good dump to get it going..

ps you dont need the drag lifts to get about the chair lifts pretty much access everywhere

Thanks for the info. Accordingly to the snow reports there should be a dump of snow this weekend, fingers crossed.

Shame about the drags as there is a drag lift just outside our hotel.

Thanks for the link. I have just found a better piste map and it is a chair lift not a drag. We are booked in The Panaroma Hotel and there appears to be a chair lift just below it.

The report of snowboarders not allowed to use drags in Pamporovo is wrong. The most popular slope for boarders is the back blue which is served by one drag midway down which is used pretty much exclusively by boarders and another at the bottom which is also used extensively by boarders.

I have used the drags many times. You rely on the drags when using the blue over the back on the way down towards Smolyan lakes

The drag on the wall and small wall i have been refused on for two years there was even a sighn by the lift to prepare you, so im not wrong think it depends on how much snow is about and how muchof the mountain is open???
The blue toward smoylan lakes is where all the boarders learn so ye that 1 is used , but its hardly a piste it lasts 10 seconds

That is great to hear as I was worried that we may be restricted to where we could go due to access and the resort appears not to be the largest ski area so we want to make good use of all runs.
