Pete it makes no difference that I have not been for several years. You can still get off the chair turn right and head down the reds and be back to the start in under 10 mins a good skier/boarder would do it in under 5. Or have they added an extra mile on the mountain since I last went?
4 hour transfer from Sofia making it again more expensive than Boro or Bansko for the many people who diy and do not need or want to be babysat by tour operators.

Very few bars and places to eat out compared to Bansko and I would think even Boro has more. So limited in resort centre step out of the hotel and what do you do? Nothing walk across to the same old bar.And what it has is not very authentic.
Once the snow starts? That's the bloody problem last year was hideous and the couple before not much better and again here we are after xmas and still no significant snow and if it does come down heavy the chances are now that it has gone in a few weeks. People book at xmas expecting snow. Now maybe that is the tour ops fault but every other resort in europe is in full swing.
I have said before I love Pamps but I now would never recommend it over Bansko or Boro anymore for the reason's above.

Bulgaria’s top winter resorts of Pamporovo and Chepelare are going to enter the New Year with significantly lower reservations compared to previous seasons.
Tour operators and hotel owners, cited by the Bulgarian news agency BGNES, say the number of tourists is down 50% while accommodation prices have been reduced by 20%.
Pamporovo still has vacancies for the New Year’s Eve where the prices for two nights with dinner, including the New Year’s Eve dinner, range between BGN 600 and 800, depending on the hotel’s category.
Double rooms sell for BNG 70-80 while apartments and VIP rooms range between BGN 120 and 140. Breakfast is not included in the price. Ski lockers cost BGN 50 a day.
The ski tracks in Pamporovo are open and maintained with artificial snow. The weather service, however, is advising wannabe tourists and skiers Sunday to cancel plans over thick fog and torrential rains in the mountains.
Bookings down 50%!!!!! Now I know we are in the brown stuff financially but 50% down at a resort that should be attracting the bargain basement skier is not good news.
Guys, one mans opinions is his own! I purchased in Pamporovo because I fell in love with the whole place. I love going in the summer too but there's no snow. I love to snowboard and have only been let down a couple of times. But! every year i have gone there i have been able to board top to bottom.
I am for one, looking forward to going out to Pamps twice this season. If I cant board there then so be it. I have many friends there to aid my enjoyment because I go for the whole ...
