Paragliding

Saw a paraglider in someone's holiday snaps from this forum. Anyone know if there are many flyers at the Bulgarian ski centres, especially Bansko?

re: Paragliding

the outfit flying in Bansko are called skynomads although they advertise on the slopes as "airtaxis" , they charge around 50-80 quid which sounds a lot but at £50 is well worth it so haggle. I've been flying paragliders for 3 years bymyself but i'm not licensed to take passengers so i'll be paying for my son with the hope he wants to get involved when he's sixteen.

have a look on youtube

re: Paragliding

Not taking your wing with you to Bankso? Where do you fly in the UK?

My wife took up paragliding about 3 year ago as well - but had an injury, so isn't much beyond CP. I might have to hide her gear when she sees this, or she'll be trying to get it on the plane with us!

We go on the 20th. How about you?

Couldn't see your video clip as my home PC is on the blink at the mo. Will have a look at work on Monday.

re: Paragliding

We approached the guy, and told him we were making a video and we would be promoting them. That is Mrs Banknote and a friend, Kiwi1 in that video. As Jamifly says, haggle Wink It really is an awesome experience I'm told.

re: Paragliding

Haven't been to Bansko yet, but from photos the mountains look covered in forest. Looks a bit scary for paragliding! Where does he take off and land?

re: Paragliding

I fly mainly in the Peak district & the Yorkshire Dales (live in Leeds),

I also get injured just about everytime I fly by not paying enough attention to the ending bit!) The wing and harness plus instruments weigh in at 21kg & it's unlikely the airlien will accept the bag is a ski-boot bag. Going on the 20th so keep intouch and we can meet up - where you staying?

re: Paragliding

Stoo,

I'm staying at the strazhite/BS 20-27 flying out of East midlands

Oliver is 12 going on 42 , he's a better skier than me and is probably going on blades this year if not next!

Anyidea how to post contact details on here without all the ski-stalkers getting hold of them (get enough spam already)

re: Paragliding

Oliver will be wearing a green "Bad lieutenant" helmet and orange and cream tiger striped pants - so he'll be easy to spot - I'm usually stuck a snowdrift or bushes - i've got a 26.6m on the soles of my boots so look out for them!
