re: Place to go and not to go in Borovets for family?
Marcus
We had a great family holiday,
People great, nothing to worry about a few of the bars were a little lively but really there wasn't anywhere in the early evening that I would worry about taking my family.
Go relax and have a great time

Most bars/restaurants welcome children but it may depend on the time of evening as to whether you still wish to be in there. Some are livelier than others
Mine love the Titanic across from Rila Hotel near Alpine Hotel, Francos, Eagles Nest, Alpina, Venice Bar.
The only one I would avoid would be the Buzz Bar - for any age

Toboggoning on the slope outside the Rila Hotel under floodlights is great fun and they may enjoy skidooing, if you have any spare cash.
There are a few lap top dancing/strip clubs on some of the side streets but you can't miss them so won't end up in one unintentionally!
Hope this helps and I'm sure others will suggest other places.

Check prices before you order and keep a menu until the bill comes - to check.
If you want a quieter room at the Rila, ask for one at the back. The view is not as good but some people can be disturbed by noise of revellers in the front rooms. We always have a front one and enjoy the view.
We also use walkie talkies to meet up for lunch etc.

Excellent answer Borogirl, really cant say more.
But would just add the hotel bar at the Rila is very expensive, and if you want to keep costs down maybe slip a few 'bits' into your pockets at breakfast if you plan on eating at the top of the mountain at lunch time as very expensive compared to the town. Alternativley buy some chocolate bars from the supermarket!!

i would suggest to anyone going, stock up at breakfast make a few rolls as the prices 'up the mountain' are to put it mildly, ridiculous. All the hotels do rolls and cuts of meat and cheese, so save yourself a lot of money. Also if you forget Asda, even the price in Boro, buy your chocolate down not 'up' and if you are brave enough get a taxi to to BILLA or T MARKET in Samokov, (have a wander round as well nice ice rink down in town 2lev an hour) and stock up on booze and sweets and food if ...
