Just after some info.Last year i went skiing and really enjoyed it (pamporovo). Unfortunately my girlfriend did not enjoy it and won't be going again.I have decided to go with my mate who only boards. I have tried boarding and didn't really take to it as much, so....
Will it be possible for us to go together and enjoy the same slopes together, or are boarders particularly suited to certain slopes and skiiers others?
any info will be gladly received
many thanks!!
Hi there,
In Borovets, snowboarders and skiers hurtle down the same slopes, the more experienced go off pieste.
If you both have similar experience, i'd say you'll have no problems skiing together...but....I think the snowboarder will have difficulty in keeping up!!!.
What do you reckon
Fiona
You could debate that after your boarding friend has been down the slopes - no one will be able to enjoy the slope as he/she will have taken all the snow off the piste. I of course wouln't wish to comment on that....I'm sure the members of this forum will come up with comments on that subject.
Boarding causes a similar effect on the pistes as snowploughing skiers, but as skiers outnumber boarders significantly, they do far more damage to the lying snow. Stick that up your salopettes Bigus!
You don't see many skiers trying to snowplough down a red/black after a couple of days tuition ? How many boarders do you see standing on the edge wrecking the piste because they take on something beyond their ability?
Tell ya what, just park yourself at a nice little steep bit, and have a listen. That scrawping sound is everyones fun being spoilt, dude!
I don't think this poster was asking for peoples unhelpful digs on boaders! He's asking whether or not he and his mate will be able to have a great time together.
Sorry I'm not a boarder but any holiday in the snow will be fun! Even if you take seperate paths during the day you will be able to meet up for lunch and enjoy the apres ski togther in the evenings not really any different from a party of skiers all of differing abilities really.
