did anyone else witness the power cut on friday? i was lucky enough to be in the resteraunt nearest the gongola at the time, so i didn't have to walk up any slopes. i felt sorry for those stuck on the drag lift, as its a pretty steep slope, if you are not the best of skiers! it was a shame to end the holiday with only half a days skiing, but in all it was a good week and we got to ski from top of gondola to the bottom! not bad for a bunch of beginners.
We were in the queue at the bottom when we were told no more gondola today. We had already been up in the morning but like you said shame about the half day missed on the last day. Maybe the boxes of beer in the lift operators shed were the reason. Couldnt understand why the chair lift in front of the Rila was still working through the power cut. We went up on that but the snow was well slushy on Friday afternoon.
We were skiing down the yastrabets runs at the time and saw the Yastrabets 4-man chairlift had stopped, so because we couldnt go up it we skiied into town. When we got there the Gondola has also stopped (we realised it must have been a power cut). We had lunch and by the time we were done the power was back everywhere, but we decided to go up the Rila chairlift anyway.
Phil, if you had gone back to the gondola you would have been able to go up.
Ok - But my wife and I payed good money to go on that holiday and the service I payed for was not provided, so We feel we are entitled to some sort of compensation. Its only fair.
