It is also possible to book the full ski packs even if you are not going with a tour operator. Independant apartment owners are able to book lift passes, ski equipment, lift pass and lessons as a package for their guests at prices which allows them to compete with the tour operators. Well, at least I can!
Book ski pass at skiextras: 264 levs (plus booking fee, card charges, postage???)
Buy at Borovets: 286 levs.
Difference: about £12 for the weeks pass. Not what i would call substantial! Especially if the various fees listed above eat into this £12!
Also, if you get a day or two when the lifts are closed do you get a refund?? Probably not. Buy as you use if you are on a budget!
Not trying to be argumentative Pete, just making people aware of the options
You are comparing just one option. Book through Balkan or CrystalSki and most other tour companies and it's a lot cheaper. No booking fee, no card charges, no postage.
My post said - If you book with your travel agency - not off of a website.
I paid £74 for a 6 day pass through Balkan.
In resort it's £98.
As far as I'm aware, you will not get a refund from anyone if the lifts are closed. Only if the resort is closed through lack of snow.
