Pre-registrtion & password login

This sort of follows on from PP's invitation to 'have your say'. This board has always be plagued by trolls and wind-up merchants, but just lately it's got lots worse - mikey/spikeymike/tommygun - call him/them what you will, and we have someone posting alleged 'reports' under Kas's name.

The mods generally do a good job in deleting the garbage, but that does lead to some quite disjointed threads.

On many other forums (tripadvisor, holiday truths, cruise critic to name just 3 off the top of my head) you have to preregister and register your e-mail addy and user name, and you can only post a) once approved and b) using your registered username and addy.

I think the time has come for that to happen here. Sensible posters who just want to discuss BG (and negative comments do have their place) won't mind and the trolls either won't bother, or if they do, can be banned when they step over the line.

Could not agree more I can't find another forum like this in fact this is more like an open chat room. A simple sign up would stop a lot of the idiots posting also everyone would have a unique login forum name so we all know who we are chatting too. Also most forums have a report abuse button that everyone can use so helping us mods not miss everything.

I think there was another Mikey abuse posting after my first one, which prompted Simes and Caz's comments........... so as I said originally the thread now gets disjointed

Go for it, I say. Like you say, means you know who you're talking to, follow the lead many more forum sites have set

I totally agree, if you have nothing to hide and nothing to gain what is the problem with registering and being accountable for your posts on here?!
Go for it!
