No,niight skiing last week mate.Was because of the lack of snow on the bottom pieste,the snow cannons were on there all night...offical

HI WE ARE FLYING OUT TO BOROVETS ON SATURDAY,HOW WAS YOU SKIING ,DID YOU GO UP THE MOUNTAIN TO SKI ,IF SO WAS THE SNOW CONDITION GOOD ,ALSO WAS THERE PLENTY OF SKI RUNS OPEN ,LIKE THE ONE ON YASTRABETS,NEXT TO THE BARS /CAFES UP THERE CHEERS GED IN SWINTON MANCHESTER..re: Questions on Borovets.
Tim, could you confirm approx how many runs were open and what the snow situation was like up on those slopes i know the snow canons are in place on the lower slopes but not up the mountain.ta

Re open ski runs in Boro, paraphrasing my post from earlier:
Sitnyakovo Express chair lift is open and gives acess to:
Sitnyakovo 1 (blue run) - skiable
Sitnyakovo 2 (red run) - skiable
Sithnyakovo 3 (red) is mostly un-skiable and at the bottom i suggest you get off and walk to the top of Martinovi Baraki (or scratch your skis on the rocks and risk a fall).
Martinovi Baraki 1 (blue), 2 and 3 (red) are good skiable thanks to the snow makers,
Cherveno Zname (black) is skiable ...

Sitnyakovo Royal Residence Way (Green my 4rs3!) should be avoided at all costs if you don't like ice!
Rila and Iglika (blue) are both skiable.
So then, on to the Gondola...
Big queue for the Gondola each morning, so when it was open we got a taxi to Yasterbrets Express 15lv (about £6). Unfortunatley, Yasterbrets Express has been closed the last two days.
Gondola is open to the top, and Markudjik 1 (blue) is open with good snow.
For the more advanced skier, Fonfon, Yasterbrets 1 and Popangelov are open and skiable to the mid gondola station.
The paths leading to the gondola and linking one slope to another are a bit rocky, quite a few people were choosing to walk these.
Skiing to the bottom of the gondola is still just about possible but it gets harder and more rocky the further down you come, or the steeper the slope gets.
If you decide to ski anyway, and not worry about a few rocks (famous last words!!), you can get your skis serviced for 15lv in Borovets.

Evening...While you were out there did you see if the new moving walkway was open at the top by the gondola???
