Gondola closed again today and i have been told it will probably be shut till the end of the season!!!!!
It rained from lunchtime today and just before that the only lift to the top (not the top by a long chalk) was the 4man chair lift and from 1.30pm they closed that. Obviously in the morning all the good slopes were taken up by the BGs and their skiing competition, so all the other slopes that were open (only 3 - 4 open at the moment) were absolutely rammed packed with all grades of students and loads of accidents, people were skiing well above their grade on reds and blues (instructors have to take them to stop them being disillusioned and the only snow) but these were the only slopes open, chaos and absolutely pants.
The other chair lift to the left of RILA at the bottom of the black run is closed and that area is severely muddy anyways. The main area in front of the Rila is turning from 30% muddy to about 50 - 60% muddy, with all the snow washing down the slopes in the form of water and cascading down the streets, making the whole town a quogmire.
The BGs are still trying to rip off the tourists before the end of the season next weekend (05 Apr 0, with the average cost of a beer (pint) about 3 pound, and the average bottle of wine in a bar about 10 pound, Borovets is no longer a cheap place, its the BGs seeing how much they can skim off the tourists.
There's rain all night tonight and it's too warm to be snow, and our ski instructor here in Borovets reckons it will be all washed out and no skiing. The only

Thunder and lightning earlier here in Bansko, v heavy rain though that has stopped and now its blooming freezing. Cams showed snow at top of gondolar though i imagine that it will be wet, higher than that i`m hoping its better, will find out tomorrow. Top lifts have been closed for three days due to high winds, v busy due to local holday and religious holiday in greece. People shipped in from Pamps over weekend, estimated 800. Many queues for available lifts though i skied new challin valog runs this morning completely alone for an hour. You ski in mid to late March, you takes your chance..
Re. prices, just paid on the way home in the Bonde bar 1.2 lev for a small beer, 3.2 for chicken karvarma with bread, maybe thats not general but available.
