Reassuramce

Hi all;

Am off to Bansko on the 12th, Havent skied for about 16 years but was an ok skier then.
This would be my last weekend that i could visit a dry slope (30 miles away)
Can someone tell me if it will be a big benefit to go to the dry slope before i go or should i just wait till i get out there??
Also, How does the Ski School people allocate people to their groups? is it like Pop Idol? will i have to stand on an X and show 'em what i can do??

Cheers.

re: Reassuramce

I'll forgive you as you didn't say CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Any form of practice will benefit you. Personally I've never been to a dry slope so I can't compare but I'm sure getting the basics sorted will stand you in good stead.

Hi Fee,

I havn't been sking for 11 yrs, had 1 lesson dry-sking last week (sort of come back to me, although not as fit as I used to be)!! Can't wait for the 11th now. If your dry slopes are likes our, I doubt if they will have a space for a lesson! Have a good one.

re: Reassuramce

I would not recommend the dry slopes, but if you are close by a real Snow Dome, then yes I would. Amazing confidence booster.

My wife had the same preconceptions and we skiied last January, but 5 minutes in Castleford SnowDome, everything changed.

re: Reassuramce

Unfortunately not an option as the nearest is in Milton Keynes and i'm in Kent,

But thanks anyway,
The general feeling is to go dry ski so I think i will !!

re: Reassuramce

The best dry slope in Kent is Chatham. Thats where I learned. Whereabouts in Kent do you live Fee.
