hi rickers, i have to agree with you that theirs good and bad in both sports.i myself would stop to help anyone in trouble.[except ramblers,dont they realise that the musala pathway is our short cut back to the rila slopes.if we were meant to walk up hill with a back pack god,[borosport] wouldnt have invented chairlifts].i'd be happy to come out and study the "dark side" for a while.we get to borovets on the 20th jan for 2 weeks.we will be in the white magic every day about 10 mins after chairs stop and this year we promised ourseves we would spend some time at bobby's. steve.g ps as for encouraging newby snowboarders .its not happening! i'll pick one up and advise them to get skis,but thats it.

I myself board all week with other good skiers and find this ski / boarder divide a bit silly as we all share the same buzz regardless of what were riding on. What i have noticed is the skiers who feel they need to put us boarders down are the people who actually would love to be able to board themselves , but due to fear of pain and embarrassment of learning never actually do so remain forever jealous of us brightly coloured flamboyant cool dude and dudets.
snowboarding as surfing and skating is a way of life and takes a certain laid back kind of person to get on with it thats prepared for a long learning curve but full of rewards.
