Reflextion
At this time of year we need to be thankfull for what we have. We also should remember the less fortunate , the poor misguided souls who cannot aspire to the grace and poetry of motion that is skiing.
I of course refer to the tea tray riders, with they're strange speech and weird clothing.
So please join me in wishing a Happy Yule Tide to all the Shreadies out there most of all the 26th Jan crew
Merry xmas to Kas and Bobby S P Dbut Manc Tom and all the 26th crew

Oh it is a lot of fun, for us to seen the poor unfortunates littering the slopes. It also makes for good GS practice cos you can't memorise the gates.
Very similar to goldfish (once round the bole and they forget what has happened) they have a very small memory retention span, so do not understand the concept free flowing movement.
Do you think I am making myself a target this year ????
Hey Tom,
Thanks for the good wishes. As a confirmed and life-long member of the standing sideways movement, I am heartened by the mellowing of the long-running Skier/Snowboarder war. It's about time we came together in the spirit and enjoyment of our beloved winter sports and did all we can to protect our winters. Borovets is a top place and there is more than enough space for us all to have a great time.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for the good wishes.
Sure there are some bad snowboarders out there, just as you have to agree there are some bad skiers. Let us more experienced not forget that we were all learners once and we all made mistakes. Let's encourage the newbies of both disciplines to get along, support and encourage one another and, more importantly, look after each other when we are out on the runs. If you see anyone taking a bail, whether a "gay on a tray" or a "dick with sticks" stop and help them, Make sure they are ok. I've done it many times and it's amazing to see people's faces (more so skiers in my own experience) when they realise that snowboarders ARE real people and do want to help them.
As for ALL snowboarders sitting down in the middle of the slope, this HAS to be an urban myth, most probably perpetuated by the likes of Manc Tom and Snow Plough. Bless them, they just can't hide their jealousy or our noble , balletic art
Guys, come out with me, garrick, francis, tracey, jane and any other members of our shred-crew and we'll show you what a totally awesome time you can have on a snowboard - WITHOUT ever sitting down in the middle of the slope, OR cutting anyone up, OR causing anyone to bail
You might also be surprised to find that we, as snowboarders, will deride others of our sport when they do decide to stop randomly and sit down in the middle of a run. Some people, skiers included in this, seem to leave their brains and common sense in the boot room when they go out on the hill. So let's just remind them, when we see them doing something stupid / unsafe, that it's not just themselves that they are putting at risk.
Wow, don't know what happened there, got all serious and sensible for a moment.
Let's face it, skiers love skiing and snowboarders love snowboarding. End of. There is much to admire in both when you see it being done well.
I for one and almost fit to burst about our trip to Borovets on 27th January and cannot think of a greater pleasure than sharing the mountain with your shred-mates and ripping up the runs. God bless the winter !
