Welcome to the forum. I agree with most of the regulars above. Whilst we have our own place, we also like Mamacitas (mexican) although the band can very loud, White Horse (great view of night skiing), Titanic. White Magic also did the best Bloody Mary's in the resort last year! We also love Green King. You can get meals for 7.5euros) with a drink on some of the meal deals - eg: pizza / pasta / burger & fries all with a local drink. Prices are higher for some of the specialty ...

You can get meals for 7.5euros) with a drink on some of the meal deals - eg: pizza / pasta / burger & fries all with a local drink. Prices are higher for some of the specialty dishes and you need to look at around 15 to 30euros - but at the latter end of the scale they are often sharing meals and most people reserve that for 1 night of their holiday. Taxi from Yastrebets to resort is 10lev although their food is excellent in their restaurantso you may not want to leave - you are just a bit out of it and prices are around 30% higher than in the resort.
Mr.Anderson - Panorama is open to all in the resort, although if you try some specialties in some of the slope restaurants, they are just as good, if not better.
Doveski - You will be pleased on one hand to know that your information is out of date. Green King was an Indian for one season and only in the evenings. Last year the original menu was run until 7pm every evening and this year it will be run as Green King the whole time. Maybe not so good news for you is that Katy's has also changed and has been rented out - the main chef and staff are working elsewhere in Carvers restaurant which is new and specialising in Steaks, Raclette, Carvery & Spit and the owners from Katy's are not around. Saying that, the new team / menu at Katy's could be excellent but it is not open yet.
Colin - there are also lots of vouchers etc to be had in the resort and lots of offers so speak to locals / other holiday-makers and you will find your way round the restaurants. There are lots of great places to eat and you will never go hungry - everyone just has their favourites.

Try the restaurant call Target, is 15 mins by taxi in the nearby town of Samokov ( not the hotel of same name in resort). taxi is about £5 one way for four people, food is amazing and prices less than 1/2 of in resort. Had three course meal with drinks for 4 people, was £60 including taxi both ways ! Been to Borovets three years running, going again this year, best slopes to top of gondola.Cheers

Had a final fairwell meal for 12 of us in the Samokov panorama restaurant last year and i have to say the view was stunning. Unfortunately, the food was not !! To say it was bad would be an understatement and i would definitely not recommend it. It was such a shäme as it is beautiful but there is definitely something not right in the set-up here. Staff seemed totally clueless and when iasked for a steak knife to cut my T-bone (which took over 45mins to arrive ans was so tuff i could not ...
