Yes i also went to boro this year at Xmas, me wife three kids and in-laws, LOVED it what a place a winter wounder land and good value for money, have been skiing in France before but no more its BOROVETS for me now. Talk to the locals learn some basic Bulgarian words and they will respect you for this.

Yes Iglika Hotel was good, food OK but could be warmer, rooms good bar reasonable and people friendly, short walk to the slopes with a short cut through the rila back door, I will use the Iglika again.re: Review of my stay in Borovets

came back from boro last sunday despitr reading some very unpleasant things on this site before we went we had a fantastic time . stayed at the iglika highly reccomended great food good bar and ideally located for the slopes. what a beautiful place the scenery was absolutely fantastic the people in the main were very friendly and we experienced a great weeks skiiing and partying cant wait till next yearre: Review of my stay in Borovets
Tip for buying wine in the Samokov Hotel. We bought a bottle of house red at the main bar - a nice 2003 Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvinon at 10 lev. We took it into the restaurant and asked the waiter for wine glasses.
The waiter was annoyed and said we were not allowed to bring wine into the restaurant. I explained that we had bought it from the bar so why the problem. The restaurant Manager got invloved and explained that the waiters don't receive a commission if wine is bought in this way. ...

Thanks for the report P. Likening Borovets to Blackpool is a bit harsh though. Blackpool is a total s***hole! Maybe it would look better covered in snow
