Originally there was a group of us going to Borovets but because part of our group have backed out because of family commitments everything was cancelled. Not wanting to miss out I have booked to go on my own from Humberside on the 20th Jan staying at the Samokov Hotel.
My question is will I end up having a sad holiday being on my own or will there be group things to join in with, do other people go skiing on their own.
Any comments please.
I maybe too old for this sort of thing as well ...

I maybe too old for this sort of thing as well as I am 58 yrs.
if you are joining a ski group you will make friends easily. i am going with family in jan but on my own in march. i know i will have just as much fun on my own as i know i will soon meet new people and its so easy going and friendly in boro you cannot help but make friends!!! you will have a fab time.
I have been a few times on my own and its been great, I go at Christmas to Borovets and am a bit nervous but going on the previous holiday experiences I am sure I have nothing to worry, everyone is always very friendly, I tend to eat very quickly though at breakfast and dinner so I do not look like a complete saddo it is easier in the day if you are with a ski group... you will probably also find a few people from this site going the same time and arranging to meet up... keep an eye ...

you will be fine just ski all day so at night if no one talks to you you are tired anyway, take a good book but honestly think you will find so many people are happy to involve you in the evenings, providing you are not a pain and tell lousy jokes everytime I have been with friends or alone there has always been someone else in ski school on their own so you all hang about at night too.. the reps will involve you as much as possible go on the pub crawl if they do one.
Our ski school group had several "Singles" 2 years ago, and they all had a ball, everyone just mucked in together. Lessons last all day, so lunchtimes are usually spent as a group as well, so it's easy to get on. As for the evenings, there will be as much or as little for you to do as you want. A quiet pint, or several noisy ones. The choice is yours!!
Richard I went on my own in 98 one of the best holidays I ever had. I was on my "own" on the plane going and that is it, from the 1st night I was with great people. You will have a great time just get stuck in.
