husband stayed at rohzen 5years ago basic and clean was the verdict. Stayed at zora 2years ago great modern bedrooms, clean modern bathroom. First place I have eaten at each meal everyday. Staff helpful taking skis to storage area for you. Great comfy leather sofa in lounge but no log fires.

re: Rozhen Hotel

Hi , we stayed at the Rozhen last year.If you want 5* this is not for you.But it is warm and clean, it is a bit basic but the little bar is friendly and the cheepest in the resort. The food in the bar is great, but you have to pay about 2 levs for a pizza. The food in the resturant is not the best, but edible. As you know there are plenty of places to eat anyway. The best thing about the Rozhen is that you will only be 5 mins away from the ski fit and the lifts. We are trying Bansko this ...

re: Rozhen Hotel

Does anyone who has stayed at the Rozhen have any experience of the (apparently) larger family rooms.
We're booked to stay there in February.
Previously stayed at the Perelik, the Pamporovo and the Orpheus Have to say, the Orpeus was probably the best value for money. The Pamporovo was the worst (although we did stay there last year during the over booking fiasco!)
As long as it's clean and warm it's fine by me, I've never spent much time in the room anyway. But a litlle extra space ...

re: Rozhen Hotel

It's the hotel that have overbooked and not Balkan Holidays. Once again the greedy hotelier has signed contract well and above the capacity of the hotel.

Bob

PS. Unless the Rozhen has been refurbished I would not accept it as it is a much lower standard than the Prespa.

re: Rozhen Hotel

We stayed in one of the larger family rooms Jan 05 (for one night only then moved to two seperate rooms, which were slightly better) search on this discussion board for further details of the problems, however, all I would say is conterary to Howard's view under no circumstances would we ever venture through the door of the hotel again.

All I would say is that we didn't let it put us off bulgaria.

We have booked for this year and will be staying at the Finlandia, it is a little further ...

We have booked for this year and will be staying at the Finlandia, it is a little further out of town but we feel this is the better option for us.

Be warned you only get what you pay for!!!!
