Last year I bought Bulgarian SIM cards in Pamps. A wonderful suggestion I read about here, a blessing for me to keep in touch with my boys during the day especially when one broke his wrist.
Anyway, I bought the cards on 30 Dec 2006, they haven't been used since around 5th Jan 2007.
Will they have expired by the time we go back on 29th December?
They may have well expired if they have not been used, you would be best to put them in your phone and switch it on you will not be able to send a sms or call but leave it in long enough for the sim card to register then you should be fine. If not they are so cheap to buy new again i wouldn't worry about it
i tell you what. me and my mate took walkie talkies and they were amazing. i was at the top of the montain and my mate was in the rila and i was chating with him.
We use walkie talkies in Borovets, cost us 60 leva 2 yrs ago, but they havent gone up much. No need to register them.....21 channels.....6 mile radius. The only negative is if one is skiing up on Markujik 1,2 or 3 and your partner is skiing Yastrebets 1,2 or 3 there is no connection due to the mountain.
Other wise good value for us as we use them alot.

Credit on a bulgarian sim card is valid for 1yr.
After that, your remaining credit gets wiped.
You can purchase another card while here in BG for approx. 10 leva that gives you approx 5 leva credit.
BG Globul or M TEL are the 2 popular ones.
An SMS cost .20 stinkys
