SKI BOOTS

Hi All
This will be my third time skiing, me and my family are heading off to borovets on 20th Feb 10, its our first time in bulgaria and were are staying at the Yanaviev hotel. Its about time that I bought my own ski boots. Can anyone suggest a good place to buy ski boots where they will look after me and give the best quality and price.
its possible to ski from the Yanakiev hotel down to the chair lift at the Rila.

re: SKI BOOTS

I would suggest the shop over the road from the Samakov Hotel, we have all use the place for Ski's and boots. The other place is the boot room at the Ela, they sell Rossingnol stuff and are very helpful. However with the exchange rate as it is they are not as good value as they used to be, might be worth a trip to one of the ski depots etc in the UK, where there really are some bargains to be had if you look.

re: SKI BOOTS

I wouldn't recommend buying boots and using them straight away. You really need to walk around in them for some time to ensure they are the right fit. Also, get them heat-fitted as this will mould them perfectly to your feet.

Bad fitting boots will ruin your holiday as it has for many before.

Might cost a few bob more - but well worth the extra.

re: SKI BOOTS

Well Jo - my first boots were in fact bought in Pamporovo. Lange, and I was lucky because I didn't do anything else but try them on. Fortunately they were fine and I skied with them for about 10 years.
Last year however, I bought new boots from Snow & Rock in Bristol. They heat moulded them for me and they were like slippers! Only cost me £140 and I am so glad I bought them.

Where do you live Jo as I'll see what I can locate near to you.

re: SKI BOOTS

Jo,
can recommend "Lockwoods" in Leamington spa. They have expert skiers working as boot technicians and will spend a long time assessing your skill levels and needs before fitting. Bought my boots there a season ago and had them stretched last month to fit a bony prominence on my feet. There was no charge for the heating and remoulding.Thats what I call service.
Hope this helps.
P.s paid about £200 for boots, Atomic b90's.
