Hi Guys,
I'm looking at investing in a decent SLR for next time I go boarding to capture some decent action pics. I'm not overly clued up on photography and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent one that would be ideal for what i need it for?
Thanks in advance
Adz
sure you want to spend lots of money on a decent SLR when it runs the risk of getting damaged and hurting you to the bargain? There are lots perfectly adequate slim cameras that wont hurt as much if you fall on them and will be cheaper to buy in the first place.
Adz,
Digital SLR cameras are now more accessible price wise. If you go for any of the major makes (i.e. cannon, nikon) you should be fine. I would advise you to shop around though. Set yourself a price that you wish to pay, then go to somewhere like Jessops, tell them how much you want to spend and ask them to demonstrate products.
I have a cannon eos 20d slr which is fantastic, however has been surpassed now by some of their later products, but it is an excellent camera. Although 8 ...

I had also got a small Sony digital and wanted something a little more sophisticated and eventually purchased a Fuji S6500 fd or similar. It is a little larger than the average Digital but well worth carrying around.

Hi ADZ

Pure Digital SLRs are much more expensive than the camera which I have and doesn't have the most important feature that I like and that is a screen viewer. My camera is a digital that thinks it is a Digital SLR with features like a really good zoom lense and interchangeable filters. My favourite is a star filter which is fantastic with the sun shining on lights, water and snow. So, I ..... ..... (must wait until tomorrow to say that) to get out there with all this snow. I am in Momchilovtsi at the moment which is approx 12km from Pamps.
I use the same FujiFilm model as Andie. I find them more accessible than 'pure' SLR's. You get similar and comparable quality without the need to change lenses - hence no dust, dirt or wet to get into the camera mechanism.
Did well for me on Safari in Kenya in the summer.
The camera I use for skiing is a slimline Samsung that serves me well.
Hi,
I have an entry level Nikon. Use it in sport mode with great results. Have had waterski photos publish in Mags and online, copy this address into your browser and select the following titles.
