ARE YOU ALLOWED TO SMOKE IN BARS IN BOROVETS, I HAVE JUST HEARD ITS ILLEGAL SINCE JAN 2005 . ANYONE ANY INFO .re: SMOKING
A ban on smoking in public places came into force in Bulgaria on 1st January 2005. As a seasoned visitor to Bulgaria and knowing that practically everyone chain smokes, its been very hard to enforce. I understand that Police in Borovets were meeting on how to enforce the ban...
They were last seen sitting at the non-smoking section in a bar in Borovets, smoking and drinking Rakia.

Seriously... not sure what the do is but I understand that its been very difficult to enforce and nobody is enforcing it but watch out... it may be a good way to make money from foreign tourists if they are giving out on the spot fines.

I was there last week and even though neither myself or my partner smoke, they kept coming over to give us a fresh ashtray every hour.The smoking ban is not being enforced at all, trust me!!

If you intend to smoke DO NOT buy what looks like english cigs out there because they are not the real thing and are very toxic. If you buy out there go for the local ones like Victory.Richard
( Suffering badly from bad chest after smoking small amount of fakes).

In fact is seems that smoking continously is a national pastime. Its almost illegal not to smoke. I found it very difficult to find anywhere that wasnt full of smokers.re: SMOKING
Ben,When I was in Bansko a couple of weeks ago, we stopped at a mountain watering hole for the ususal brandy/hot choc. Was a pretty cold and foggy day so no one was sat outside. Large signs on the OUTSIDE tables stated - NON SMOKING AREA.....Think that says it all.
Agree with the advice on buying Victory cigs, only 1.6 lev a pack and better than the fake rubbish....

I have no life and i smell, im over weight and wash myself with a rag on a stick, i cant ski, not sure why im on this website really , i thought i was on fat friendly men. I am also Gay, anyone GAY?Love you guys xxx
