SNOW REPORT FROM BOROVETS

hi today in borovets it has been sunny and warm like the rest of the week.

firstly don't listen to anyone or anything saying which lifts are open.

TODAY EVERY LIFTS APART FROM THE YASTRABETZ CHAIR Lift and ONE OF THE DRAG LIFTS UP THE TOP were open.

NURSEERY slopes have a good covering of snow and are good enough to learn on and the cues at the busiest part of the day are about 10-12 minutes although the webcam shows they are busy the cues die quickly

SKI CONDITIONS UP THE TOP ...

SKI CONDITIONS UP THE TOP ARE REALLY GOOD
no ice or anything. all lifts up there are open apart from one for a red run.

lower slopes are in skiable conditions but are some icy patches.

also the runs from the mid station gondola down to the town on the red runs are apparantely closed. but the top section of the yastabets runs have great snow on.

green runs are in awful condition and the green from the top isn't open and the green run on the other side of the mountain is unskiable.

gondola cues are long early in the morning about 1 hour but there are no cues by lunch

cues back down are about 20 minutes long after half three.

night skiing is on but you have to be a really good skier as the pistes become icy at night

i went off piste and pushed my pole into the ground at the top and there was about 80cm of snow!!!!!!!!!! obviously on the slopes there isn't so much but it is a reasonable amount

Yes, you've given a realistic report and told it like it is - it can only get better. This season's just a bit of a late starter.

re: SNOW REPORT FROM BOROVETS

the samakov is good and the rooms are clean but at the end of the day you'll be on the slopes all day.

oh and if anyone is in borovets now and doesn't believe me about the 80cm at the top off piste push your pole into the groud untill you reach mud and you'll see.

i'm having a graet time as i can do all runs but my mate can only do greens and there isn't much on offer as far as greens go at the minute.

a problem is that it is hot at the minute and it needs to get colder

re: SNOW REPORT FROM BOROVETS

oh i almost forgot to say they are no cues at all for the baraki chair lift or the lift at the bottom of the red and black run at the top but there is about a 5 minute cue at the bottom of the blue run lift at the top.
